How do I choose the right wig?
Start with the look and level of maintenance you want.
Consider:
Hair type: Human hair offers styling versatility, while synthetic wigs can provide a ready-to-wear style.
Construction: Lace front, closure, glueless, full lace, 360 and other constructions provide different styling and coverage options.
Texture: Choose from straight, body wave, water wave, deep wave, curly and other textures.
Length: Shorter styles can be easier to manage, while longer styles create a different overall look.
Color: Choose from natural shades, blonde tones, burgundy and other colors, as well as fashion shades.
If you're not sure where to start, visit The Wig Guide for detailed buying guides and wig education.
What is a human hair wig?
A human hair wig is made using human hair rather than synthetic fibers. Human hair wigs are popular for their natural appearance and styling versatility.
Individual products can vary in construction, density, length, texture and hair characteristics, so always review the product description and specifications before ordering.
What is a synthetic wig?
Synthetic wigs are made from manufactured fibers designed to resemble hair. Many synthetic wigs are created with a particular style or texture already established, making them convenient for customers who want a defined look.
Always check the individual product description for information about the specific fiber and whether heat styling is appropriate.
What is a lace front wig?
A lace front wig has a lace panel along the front hairline designed to create the appearance of hair growing from the scalp.
Lace front wigs can provide different styling possibilities depending on the specific construction. Lace dimensions and materials vary by product, so review the product details for the exact specifications.
What is a glueless wig?
A glueless wig is designed to be worn without traditional wig adhesive. Depending on the design, it may use features such as adjustable straps, combs, an elastic band or other methods to help secure the wig.
Glueless construction varies between products. Check the individual product listing for its specific features.
What is a Wear & Go wig?
A Wear & Go wig is generally designed to simplify the process of putting on and wearing a wig, often incorporating features such as pre-cut lace, pre-plucked hairlines or adjustable construction.
Features vary by product. Always review the product description before ordering.
What is a closure wig?
A closure wig uses a closure piece to cover a portion of the scalp and hairline. Common closure sizes include 4x4, 5x5 and 7x5, although exact dimensions can vary.
The construction you choose depends on the amount of styling flexibility and coverage you want.
What is the difference between 13x4 and 13x6 lace?
The numbers refer to the approximate dimensions of the lace area.
A 13x4 lace front generally provides approximately 13 inches of ear-to-ear coverage with a 4-inch depth.
A 13x6 lace front generally provides a deeper lace area, offering additional space for certain parting and styling options.
Exact dimensions can vary by manufacturer, so check the individual product listing.
What is HD lace?
HD lace refers to a thinner, more transparent lace material designed to blend with the appearance of the scalp.
HD lace can be delicate, so proper handling and care are important.
What does "pre-plucked" mean?
A pre-plucked wig has had some hair removed along the hairline to create a more graduated appearance.
The amount of pre-plucking varies by product and may still require additional customization depending on your preferred look.
What does wig density mean?
Density refers to how much hair is used in a wig.
Lower densities generally create a lighter, less voluminous appearance, while higher densities create a fuller look.
The ideal density is personal and depends on the hairstyle, length, texture and appearance you want.
HUMAN HAIR & SYNTHETIC WIG CARE
Can human hair wigs be straightened or curled?
Many human hair wigs can be styled with heat, but the appropriate temperature and method depend on the specific wig.
Always check the product description and use appropriate heat protection. Excessive heat can damage human hair.
Can I dye a human hair wig?
Some human hair wigs may be suitable for coloring, but coloring is a chemical process that can alter or damage the hair.
Unless you are experienced with wig coloring, professional assistance is recommended.
Important: Once a wig has been altered, colored, cut, chemically processed or otherwise customized, it may no longer qualify for return.
Can I use heat on a synthetic wig?
Not necessarily. Some synthetic fibers are heat-resistant while others can be damaged or melted by heat.
Never assume a synthetic wig is heat-safe. Check the individual product description for heat-styling information before applying heat.
How should I wash my wig?
Washing instructions vary depending on the wig's material, construction and styling.
For detailed instructions, see The Wig Guide and the care instructions provided with your product.
As a general rule, avoid excessive washing, rough handling and unnecessary manipulation.
How can I make my wig last longer?
Proper storage and gentle handling can help extend the useful life of a wig.
Depending on the wig, helpful practices may include:
-
Following the manufacturer's care instructions
-
Avoiding unnecessary brushing or manipulation
-
Using appropriate wig-care products
-
Protecting the wig during storage
-
Avoiding excessive heat
-
Keeping the wig away from unnecessary friction
-
Cleaning it according to its specific care requirements
Different wigs have different care needs, so always follow the instructions associated with your particular product.

SHIPPING
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes. Standard shipping is free worldwide on all orders with no minimum purchase requirement.
Where do you ship?
We offer standard shipping worldwide.
International orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, VAT, brokerage fees or other charges imposed by the destination country. These charges are the customer's responsibility.
How long does shipping take?
Orders generally require:
Processing: 2–5 business days after successful payment.
Estimated standard transit:
-
United States: 7–20 business days
-
International: 10–25 business days
That results in an estimated total delivery timeframe of approximately:
-
United States: 9–25 business days
-
International: 12–30 business days
These are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates.
Why is my order taking longer than expected?
Delivery times can be affected by carrier delays, customs processing, weather, holidays, high shipping volume and other circumstances outside our control.
We do not guarantee arrival by a specific date.
If you are ordering for a wedding, birthday, vacation, performance, photoshoot, holiday or other event, please allow sufficient additional time.
Will all items in my order arrive together?
Not necessarily.
Depending on product availability and fulfillment location, items from the same order may ship separately. You may therefore receive multiple packages for a single order.
Do international customers have to pay customs or import fees?
Potentially, yes.
Customs duties, import taxes, VAT, brokerage charges and other destination-country fees are not included in the store's free shipping offer and are the customer's responsibility.
Customs processing times are outside our control.

First, check:
-
Your mailbox or usual delivery location
-
Around your door or property
-
With household members
-
With neighbors
-
Any alternate delivery location indicated by the carrier
You should also contact the carrier directly using the tracking information.
Once a carrier confirms delivery, The Wig Depot cannot guarantee recovery of packages that are subsequently lost or stolen.

Can I try on a wig before returning it?
A brief try-on may be permitted solely to determine fit and appearance, preferably while wearing a clean wig cap.
The wig must remain completely new and resalable.
It must not be cut, washed, colored, bleached, plucked, brushed, combed, restyled, chemically processed or otherwise manipulated beyond a brief inspection.
What can make a wig ineligible for return?

PRODUCT INFORMATION
Are the colors shown on the website exact?
Product colors can appear differently depending on lighting, photography, screen settings and device displays.
For this reason, a displayed color should be considered a representation rather than a guarantee of an exact shade.
Will the wig look exactly like the model photo?
Product photography is intended to show the general appearance of the style.
The final appearance can vary based on lighting, styling, customization, head size, installation method and other factors.
Always review the written product specifications in addition to the photos.
Do all wigs have the same cap construction?
No.
Wig construction varies significantly. Depending on the product, you may find lace fronts, closures, glueless construction, full lace, 360 lace, headband construction, U-Part designs and other configurations.
Check each product listing for its specific construction.
How do I know whether a wig will fit me?
Review the cap size and adjustable features listed on the individual product page.
If measurements are provided, compare them with your own head measurements before ordering.
Because wig construction varies, don't assume that every wig uses the same sizing system.
